Recently I noticed some tarter build up on one of our older dogs. He's not too much of a fan of brushing (neither am I) so I searched for some new products to try and carry. Some products we are just starting so I don't expect to see a huge difference for awhile, but some of my favorites, and theirs too, I have listed links for them. Best over all.......keep them clean before you even start to see the early signs of tarter or plaque, don't wait.
I should note here I do not give the "chew toys" to them as a toy. I give it to them as a treat for 30 mins and then take it away. I feel that this helps keep them from losing interest in it too fast so they are always excited when I bring out the treat box for teeth cleaning
Most durable, I put peanut butter that is specially made for dogs, pumpkin, or a wet dog food in the grooves and they enjoy cleaning it up. It has survived the hardest chewers of my Lab pack.
I love this one for the rubber like bristles, they can really get their teeth in there and they can't lick it all off with out chewing. Not the most durable but would last a while before I would have to replace it. We lost a few bristle teeth with a couple of my chewers that love to find the most tidiest thing to chew at
Dog Peanut Butter (no Sugar)
If you must brush....
